No information additional to that found in the Russian Federation Citizenship Act (available in REFWORLD) and in several Responses to Information Requests on the procedures and requirements for former USSR citizens who acquired Israeli citizenship to register for Russian citizenship under Article 18 of the Russian Federation Law on Citizenship, nor on the eligibility of their children and/or spouses, could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. No reports or statistics of former Soviet Union citizens who emigrated to Israel and later returned to Russia could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
