According to an official of the Palestine Mission in Ottawa, Egypt does not issue entry visas to Palestinians, and this applies to even those carrying Egyptian travelling documents, who must apply for a visitor's visa that will take at least six months to process (13 July 1993). This time lapse is used by the authorities to undertake a complete security check on the applicant (Ibid.). According to the source, the Egyptian government does not accord Palestinians the status of permanent residency in Egypt.
Additional and/or corroborative information on the requested subject could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB in Ottawa.
