Attached please find a brief commentary on Moldova's nationality policy which does not, however, single out any particular minority (RFE/RL 9-13 Aug. 1993, 20). The DIRB has no information specific to the situation of the Gagauz subsequent to that in the Question and Answer paper Moldova: Internal Flight Alternatives of July 1993.

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
