2014 Roundtable on Solutions

Wednesday, April 2, 2014 (All day) to Thursday, April 3, 2014 (All day)
Eigtveds Pakhus
Copenhagen
Denmark

The Copenhagen Roundtable was held at Eigtveds Pakhus in Copenhagen on 2-3 April 2014 and built on the recommendations from previous discussions on the subject of displacement hosted by the Netherlands, Japan, and Denmark. The Roundtable established a commitment from a wide number of actors involved in humanitarian response, recovery, and long-term development by bringing together UN agencies, NGOs, donor nations, the private sector, academic institutions, and affected states to discuss and agree on a coherent way forward to address protracted displacement.
The Roundtable had 3 overarching objectives:

  • Formal endorsement of a Mission Statement and Governance Structure for the Solutions Alliance.
  • Agreement on the desirability of a global advocacy strategy for the Solutions Alliance and core advocacy messages underpinning the Alliance.
  • Agreement on next steps to establish National Groups to roll out the Solutions Alliance in a small number of selected displacement situations.
