A gazetteer listing suburbs and quarters in Tehran does not contain any references to a district called Now (New Map of Tehran 1997). According to the Lonely Planet guide Iran: A Travel Survival Kit, the Armenian quarter in Tehran is immediately south of the Armenian Cathedral located at the north end of Kheyabun-e Shahid Ostad Nejatollahi (also Shahid Nejatollahi) (1992, 128). According to the New Map of Tehran, the closest corresponding neighbourhood is called Bejhat Abad (1997). No references to attacks on Armenian Christian neighbourhoods in 1999 could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
