Search operations continue for a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane missing since early on March 8 with 239 people aboard.

Malaysian authorities say a total of 40 ships and 22 aircraft from several countries, including China and the United States, are involved in the hunt.

The flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing vanished from the radar somewhere at sea between Malaysia and Vietnam without a distress call.

Meanwhile, authorities said they were also checking close-circuit television footage of at least two passengers believed to have boarded the plane using stolen European passports.

Malaysian Transport Minister Hishamuddin Hussein confirmed that international agencies, including the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, have joined the investigation.

He said authorities are examining "all possibilities."
