ADJUMANI, Uganda - For Jacob Yuoth, “victim” is not a title he is willing to accept. Uprooted from his home in South Sudan, he has started a new life in Uganda, determined to succeed against all odds. He gives a special thanks to UNHCR and its donors like Ecobank, who have supported his journey to self-reliance.
UNHCR’s strategic partnership with the Pan African bank, which contributed US $100,000 towards UNHCR’s livelihoods and education programmes in Africa, has paved the way for new corporate partners in the region to support refugees to be independent. The group CEO, Mr. Ade Ayeyemi, duly noted, “Through this partnership and our regional platforms, we can drive a sustainable and impact-focused agenda to support refugees on the continent.”
