About the UNHCR Refugee Film Festival
Every year, through a selection of dramas and documentaries from across the globe, the UNHCR Refugee Film Festival aims to raise awareness on refugees, people displaced internally or those who are stateless. Ranging from blockbusters to independent films, the program aspires to shed light on their situation and contexts, their fears, losses, hopes, successes, and their despair, courage and resilience.
This year, thanks to our partners, sponsors, co-organizers and supporters, the 11th UNHCR Refugee Film Festival has expanded to Sendai, Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka and 16 schools around the nation in the hopes that even more people can join the festival.
