According to the fifth paragraph on page 4 of the Facts on File World News Digest attachment, members of minority ethnic groups in Vojvodina, "a province of Serbia that had large Hungarian, Croat and Romanian minorities," have begun to be displaced by Serb refugees from the Krajina region in Croatia (31 Aug. 1995). Non-Serbs in some Vojvodina villages have been required to relinquish their dwellings and employment to the Serb refugees (ibid.).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
