1) According to a representative at the Embassy of Ethiopia in Ottawa, there is no military service at the present time in Ethiopia (15 Apr. 1992).

2) The representative at the Embassy of Ethiopia stated that since the new government was established in May 1991, Ethiopians can obtain a visa to return to their country (Ibid.).
