NRC in looking for a committed and experienced Protection Adviser to join the team in Yemen. The Protection Adviser supports the integration of NRC’s Protection Policy and core principles across NRC’s response in Yemen, and leads the implementation of all protection activities in the country programme. Working closely with all thematic areas (Core Competencies) the role will strengthen programmes by building capacity and promoting the safety and dignity of all people assisted by NRC’s programmes.

The Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective financial management at GFP, by recording, analyzing and presenting financial information, maintaining record of assets, liabilities, funds, expenditures, tax liabilities, or other financial activities within GFP, and preparing financial reports for Senior Management Team, for Board, and for different Donors and Partners.

General description

Since the conflict between Al Houthi and the Saudi-led coalition that started in March 2015, Yemen has become one of the three emergency in the world and is thus facing one of the worst humanitarian crisis, with 80 % of the population who is now in need of humanitarian aid. The context is highly challenging in regards to access to the communities despite significant needs in the country. Airstrike, embargo, high prices, etc have caused a profound deterioration of the nutitritional situation and hundreds of thousands lives are at risk.

Org. Setting and Reporting

This position is located in the Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General (OASG). The Meetings Services Assistant at this level reports to the Programme Adviser to the Assistant Secretary-General / Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator. The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) coordinates the global emergency response to save lives and protect people in humanitarian crises. We advocate for effective and principled humanitarian action by all, for all.
