Mosul: Warning of a massive displacement
As the clock ticks, a humanitarian disaster is expected to unfold in Mosul, northern Iraq. UNHCR and humanitarian agencies predict that more than 1 million people could be displaced by the offensive by Iraqi Government forces to retake the country’s second city.

UNCHR is working around the clock with its partners to ensure full preparedness for the expected displacement to support families who will need urgent assistance in the form of shelter, food, water or medical support.

The funds are desperately needed to build camps and to provide urgently needed relief supplies for displaced families, including winter kits ahead of expected freezing temperature in northern Iraq.
