Elements of Coordination:
The first chapter of the Toolkit focuses on the basics of coordination at the broadest level. In an emergency it is easy to forget core coordination objectives and actions and, instead, focus on the more immediately relevant or process-oriented ones. It can also be easy to forget that the best leadership and coordination only comes with a commitment to humanitarian principles and principles of partnership. The material in this chapter should help remind experienced coordinators of what they are supposed to do and guide new coordinators as they begin to navigate the challenging world of inter-agency coordination for refugee responses.
