QUETTA, Pakistan – Authorities are looking for clues after the prosecutor-general of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan Province, Wasi Tarin, was reported missing by his family.

His brother, Sajid Tarin, said the family has not had contact with Tarin for more than 24 hours.

Sajid Tarin told RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal that the prosecutor-general was on his way from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province, to Islamabad when the family lost contact with him.

He said they last had contact with him when he reached Zhob district and since then his mobile phone has not been responding.

He said authorities ha been informed of the prosecutor-general's disappearance.

There have been no claims by possible kidnappers of responsibility for the disappearance.

Members of the Balochistan Bar Association have announced they will boycott the day's court proceedings to protest Tarin's disappearance.
