Information on the above-mentioned topics could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

However, according to Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1991 1992, when the Transitional Government seized power in May 1991 they detained thousands of former senior employees of the Mengistu regime and Workers Party of Ethiopia (WPE) officials "solely because of the positions they held" (1992, 120). This source does not contain information on the detention or search for children of former Mengistu officials suspected of torture.
