Reports of significant changes in the situation of Jews in Iran since the publication of the IRBDC's Country Profile on Iran could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC. The most recent reference to the conditions of Jews in Iran found in the IRBDC is that contained in the U. S. Department of State's Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1990, which states that Jews, like Zoroastrians and Christians, "are permitted to practice their religions" and elect representatives to reserved seats in Parliament (Country Reports 1990 1990, 1449). Its corresponding Critique published by the Lawyers' Committee for Human Rights in 1991 does not contain any comments on that specific issue. Non-bibliographic sources have been approached by the IRBDC to obtain information on the requested subject, although no new data has been obtained so far. Should new information become available to the IRBDC within the next two weeks, it will be immediately forwarded to you.
