Published information on this specific subject is currently unavailable to the IRBDC in Ottawa.

According to a representative of the U.S. Committee for Refugees in Washington, the Iraqis who were expelled to Iran in 1980 are free to travel and work throughout the country (3 Dec. 1991). This source added that these Iraqis are not living in camps (Ibid.). However, they are not considered Iranians and they do not possess a firm status in Iran (Ibid.).
