2) Copies of Articles 11, 12, and 21 of the Iraqi Citizenship Law, from an unofficial translation of The Encyclopedia of Arab Legislations (1978).

A September 1980 report in The New York Times indicated that of the 700 Americans in Iraq, most were there were "women married to Iraqi men, and many of these hold dual citizenship."("U.S. Prepares to Evacuate") When asked about this article, a spokesman at the Iraqi embassy in Ottawa stated that this probably is not the case now. The IRBDC is awaiting a more definitive written response from the Iraqi Embassy to written questions.
