The Umma party now recognize the right of self-determination for southern Sudan and has signed a political agreement with the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) (Sudan Democratic Gazette Jan. 1995). For a full text of the political agreement between the Umma party and the SPLA , please refer to the attached document.
Information on the policies or ideology of the Umma regarding the civil war in the south could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.
