United Kingdom: Privy Council (Judicial Committee)

The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council was the court of final appeal for the United Kingdom overseas territories and Crown dependencies, and for those Commonwealth countries that have retained the appeal to Her Majesty in Council or, in the case of Republics, to the Judicial Committee. It is also the court of final appeal for determining "devolution issues" under the United Kingdom devolution statutes of 1998 and it has certain other domestic jurisdiction within the United Kingdom. Since October 2009, the jurisdiction of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council was assumed by the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. Website: www.privy-council.org.uk
