According to information obtained from the Embassy of Sudan in Ottawa, children born of an Eritrean mother and Sudanese father are entitled to Sudanese citizenship providing the father can provide proof of his citizenship and the childrens' birth certificates (12 Apr. 1996). The children of a Sudanese father are eligible for citizenship under the same conditions, even if born in Saudi Arabia (ibid.).
