According to the Minkahyup Human Rights Group in Seoul, Hanchongryon was "inaugurated" in 1993 and since then, claims it has been "blamed for fomenting hundreds of violent student demonstrations" (n.d.). No reports of Hanchongryon participating in an August 1990 student demonstration at Yon Sei (Yonsei) University in Seoul could be found among the sources consulted.
