According to the Citizenship and Immigration section of the Department of Employment and Immigration,

Canada has issued selfadhesive visitor visas world wide since January 1982....Canada Immigration has used four different visitor visas during this period with three of them the January 1982 to August 31, 1986 issue, the September 1, 1986 to November 13, 1988 issue and the November 14, 1988 to January 31, 1993 issues exhibited on the enclosed poster (15 Mar. 1994).

The source states that

The blue booklet is a specimen of the visa issued exclusively from November 14, 1988 to January 31, 1993. On the right hand side of the visa is an optically variable patch which was added to increase the security of visas issued as of April 15, 1992. The green booklet contains a specimen of the only Canadian visitor visa issued since February 1, 1993. This specimen contains on the left hand side a different security patch added to protect the visa (ibid.).

This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.

Attached pleased find two booklets exhibiting specimens of two types of visitor visas and a poster of visitor visas issued from January 1982 to January 1993.
