Please find attached an official translation of the recently enacted Ecuadoran law on violence against women and families, which the DIRB received on 8 May 1996 from the legal coordinator of the Centro Ecuatoriano Para la Promoción Y Acción de la Mujer (CEPAM) in Quito.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
