What is it? 

De Asielzoekmachine (The Asylum Seeking Machine) is an on-line multimedia story explaining asylum, migration and refugees in the Netherlands. Viewers are taken through the whole process of arriving in the Netherlands, registering as asylum-seeker, going through the asylum procedure and setting up a new life afterwards.

De Asielzoekmachine was conceived and produced by Dutch journalists Eefje Blankevoort and Els van Driel, with financial support of a number of Dutch charities and some of the public television stations.

Materials available

De Asielzoekmachine is only available on-line. The interactive story contains videos and photos, as well as graphics, text and other media. 

Age groups

No age group has been defined, but the materials are aimed at teenagers and adults.

Languages

The interactive story is only available in Dutch.
