| L’UNHCR et tous les acteurs humanitaires expriment leurs plus grandes préoccupations au regard des violences au Nigéria et en particulier de celles au niveau du Lac Tchad. Ils appellent l’ensemble des belligérants à épargner les vies et les biens de la population civile et à respecter les conventions internationales sur la conduite des conflits armés. Il est également nécessaire que la communauté internationale se mobilise et vienne en aide à la population déplacée et aux habitants de la région de Diffa lesquels, malgré une pauvreté rampante, la désertification et une crise alimentaire qui se profile, accueillent leurs voisins du Nigeria. | UNHCR and all humanitarian actors also express their gravest concerns as regards the violence in Nigeria and in particular in the areas along Lake Chad. They call on all belligerents to spare the lives and properties of the civilian population and to respect the international conventions on the conduct of armed conflict There is also a need for the international community to mobilize and to come to the rescue of the displaced population and the inhabitants of Diffa region who, despite of rampant poverty, desertification and a looming food crisis, keep on hosting their neighbours from Nigeria |

Thousands of refugees started in January 2012 to leave their native Mali and seek protection in neigbouring Niger. A year later, the story repeats itself at another border: Thousands of refugees are fleeing the conflict in northern Nigeria and flock into neighbouring Niger. This blog is about the hardship of being a refugee in Niger, about the men, women and children forced into exile since war devastated their previous lives. Depuis janvier 2012, des milliers de réfugiés ont quitté leur Mali natal pour aller chercher protection au Niger voisin. Un an après, l'histoire se répète à une autre frontière : des milliers de réfugiés fuient actuellement le conflit au nord du Nigeria et affluent sur le territoire du Niger. Ce blog raconte la difficulté d'être réfugié au Niger, parle d'hommes, de femmes et d'enfants forcés à l'exil par la guerre qui a anéanti leur vie passée. Mais ce blog raconte également l'espoir, l’accueil généreux du peuple nigérien et l’importance du travail humanitaire pour aider à reconstruire les vies de ceux qui ont tout perdu.
