UNHCR relies almost entirely on voluntary contributions from governments, UN and pooled funding mechanisms, intergovernmental institutions and the private sector. We work all year round to raise funds for our programmes and address new emergencies as they occur.
Regularly updated information about our operations, financial requirements and donor contributions is available on the Global Focus website, our main operational reporting platform for donors.
In a complex environment with fast shifting needs and priorities, we depend on donors to provide contributions that can be allocated as flexibly as possible. These allow us to direct funds where they are most needed, providing protection, shelter, water, health, education and other essentials to millions of refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless and internally displaced people around the world.
