Gender Equity Policy
Former UNHCR female staff members in the International and National Professional categories, having held an Indefinite or a Fixed-Term Appointment of long duration (i.e. having been recruited through the APPB procedure) for an uninterrupted period of at least one year during the last five years, as determined by the date of issuance of the relevant vacancy, and with documented satisfactory performance, may apply and be considered for all internally advertised vacancies in the International and National Professional categories, according to normal eligibility criteria.
If applying for vacancies within two years of the date of separation from UNHCR, the reference point for determining rotation eligibility will be the category of the last UNHCR official duty station served, at the time served. If applying within two years of the date of separation, the reference point for seniority will be the grade held at the time of separation.
If applying for vacancies after two years of the date of separation from UNHCR, rotation and seniority will be waived, and applicants will have to grade at the level of the position for which they are applying.
