Everyone present in the Football Factory of Karyes on Sunday, November 6, were able to watch a very special football game. The Heavy Metal United FC played against the refugee football team of Trikala, Central Greece.
The newly established football team with the support of UNHCR in the framework of the community based interventions, funded by the European Commission – Humanitarian Aid , might be training in the yard of a former supermarket, but its members’ spirits were very high before their first official game.
“For victory!” cheered in Arabic the refugee football team before the game begun. Their 4 to 1 final victory whetted appetites for more games as well as for a junior football team.
