Jesús Vázquez
Popular Spanish TV presenter Jesús Vázquez started his collaboration with UNHCR in Spain in 2006 and was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador in 2008. He has since used his media access and public influence to raise funds and awareness for refugees and other displaced people and to promote UNHCR's work around the world.
Vázquez has met refugees and the internally displaced in Colombia, Kenya and Tunisia, sharing his experiences with Spanish TV audiences. The popular Spaniard has been a key supporter of fund-raising campaigns, helping us secure regular donations from the general public and the corporate sector.
He is particularly interested in education for refugees, gender issues and health, including measures to control the spread of HIV/AIDS among displaced populations.
