Under the revised inter-agency Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan (RMRP) for Europe, UNHCR is appealing for 300 million USD for Greece. The financial support provided by donors who contribute with non-earmarked and broadly earmarked funds, as well as by those who contribute directly to the situation and the Greece operation, allows to provide direct assistance and protection, and to help find solutions for refugees and asylum-seekers.
Funding update
As of 15 December 2016, the total recorded contributions for Greece amount to 184.5 million USD. UNHCR extends its special thanks to major donors to the refugee emergency in Europe – the European Union, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom – as well as to all government donors and private donors for their generous contributions.
In this changing operational context, UNHCR is appealing to donors to provide contributions that can be allocated as flexibly as possible.
