UNHCR has a Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR TB) Center in Ifo Camp. This article links TB to the conflict in Somalia. "A drug resistance survey conducted in 2011 in Somalia showed that the country had the highest rate of MDR TB infection on the African continent. MDR TB develops when a patient receives ineffective treatment or treatment is interrupted, a common occurrence when people are subjected to violence and insecurity."
