This is the most powerful earthquake to strike the country since 1979, 7.8 magnitude quake shook Ecuador on Saturday (April 16), killing more than 650 people and injuring more than 16,000. Some 40,000 people have been affected, many displaced by the earthquakeThe powerful tremor ripped apart buildings, tore up roads and knocked out power. Children and families affected by the devastating earthquakes urgently need your help.
UNHCR is on the ground to respond and save lives. We are providing immediate emergency care and support to meet the most urgent needs of survivors. . But many families are still in desperate need and there are tremendous things to do as unknown figures of loss.
We need your help to reach and provide life-saving assistance to survivors as fast as possible.

Provide 900 family tents to give them shelter and protect them from all elements. |

Provide 6,950 kitchen sets to the affected people as a survival kits. |

Provide 9,000 collapsible Jerry Cans to collect water which are crucial in this Emergency. |

Provide 7,250 plastic sheetings to protect them from the elements. |

Provide 50,000 sleeping mats as a bed for the affected families |

Provide 18,000 mosquito nets to protect the families from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. |

Provide 6,100 solar lamps to provide lighting and use as a cell phone charger to communicate with families and find the earthquake survivors. |
