Registration exercise was completed in TurkmenistanOne of the main elements of the Action Plan for Joint Activities on Prevention and Reduction of Statelessness in Turkmenistan was the registration exercise which started in May 2011 and lasted until the end of June 2011. "We can not tell how many people were registered during the exercise, because the information is still being processed, but people were queuing up in many provinces and submitted their documents. More than 70 registration points were operating in all the country's provinces" - underlined Batyr Sapbiyev, UNHCR Assistant Protection Officer in Turkmenistan. Even the registration is over, the State Migration Services still continue receiving and processing the applications. 15.08.2011 |
