Career
Civil engineer; public works contractor (Olympic Stadium in Athens and Peace and Friendship Stadium in Faleron were completed under his supervision); Director of EDOK-ETER and supervisor of projects such as the hydroelectric dam at Mornos river and the electrical engineering system for the water supply of Athens (1977-1982); founder and President of Depanom (a public body for the construction of hospitals), head of the construction procedure of the University Hospitals of Patras, Ioannina, and Heraklion (1983-1989); advisor to the Prime Minister (1982-1989 and 1993-1996) Andreas Papandreou, on technical issues; 1994 served as the Prime Minister’s representative on the Trans European Networks Commission of the European Union; advisor to Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis (1996, January-September); member (1995-1998) and Vice-President (1995-1996) of the Board of Olympic Airways; initiated and supervised the construction of the International Olympic Academy (IOA) Conference Centre in Ancient Olympia (1993), the new Hellenic Olympic Committee headquarters in Athens (1998) and its hotel (2005)
