Russian Winter YOG Champion Elizaveta Tuktamisheva selected as a global athlete ambassador for Sochi 2014

Having shone at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 2012, 16 year-old figure skating prodigy Elizaveta Tuktamisheva has gone on to win bronze at the 2013 European Championships; place first at the 2013 Russian Championships; and, earlier this month, was chosen to be one of just three global athlete ambassadors to promote the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, which are being held in her home country, Russia.

Part of an initiative from TOP Olympic partner Samsung, Elizaveta’s role will be to promote the Olympic Winter Games and the Olympic Movement as well as interact with fellow young fans through-out the build-up to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Elizaveta has a promising career ahead, and is certainly one to watch as she makes her Olympic Games debut in Sochi in February. Until then, relive the young Russian skater’s medal-winning performance at Innsbruck 2012:
