20 young Syrian men and women joined hands to find a peaceful space for the vulnerable #children affected by the conflict in #Syria.

Today, Chila, the group of art students concluded the first step of their initiative, where they volunteered to learn how to support those children then provide them with all the support they can.

The event included a play to reflect the suffering of the children caught up in the conflict, a dual painting show and a gallery of paintings that th...e children drew themselves.

Mohammad, 28, used to own 102 bee colonies, he used to travel around the country in order to create different kinds of honey, whether it’s based on the nectar of the Coriander flower, Cotton flower or Anesin flower.

After losing not only his bees but also his house and livelihood due to the ongoing crisis i...n Syria, Mohammad never lost his hope and determination. He applied to UNHCR’s Small Business Grant program implemented by Al-Nada Association.

The small children in Rasass Shelter in #Swaida were watching attentively the breath-taking plot twist of the puppet show during Al-Adha Eid activities.

Our partners, Bara’em Association for Children Care and Syria Trust celebrated the Adha Eid with over 250 children living in the shelter.

Rasha, 32 year-old Iraqi refugee who fled to Syria in 2003 when the war started in Iraq. Her husband was killed by clashes in Iraq while he was in a visit to his parent’s in 2009.

For now, Rasha is responsible for her three children and she says, “Education is the first thing I wish for my three children, I want to see them in the highest levels”, “My daughter Tabarak wants to be a dentist in the future and I insist to help Tabarak and her siblings to achieve their dreams”. ...

A group of wonderful ladies volunteered to create 160 pieces of clothes for children for #Adha_Eid.

The clothes were distributed by Out-Reach Volunteers to the children in vulnerable families, with special focus on children with disabilities.

This Community-based Initiative was implemented by our partner NGO, Aoun Association under UNHCR’s CBI programme.

“I want to learn photography, I hope to become a famous photographer in the future”, says Nashaat, 10 year-old Iraqi refugee who received today his education grant for this year at UNHCR office in Damascus.

As the academic school year will start on the 18th of September, UNHCR’s education grant distribution cycle started on the 28th of August for refugees and asylum seekers children aged from 5 to 18 years old in Syria.

Education grant program is one of UNHCR’s flexible an...d practical social protection tools that support refugee’s families for the education of their children and decrease the risk of dropping out from school and other consequences such as child labour.
