Pakistan: 1. What evidence is there that women who are separated from their husbands are treated differently by the community at large in Pakistan? 2. Is there evidence that the police or government in Pakistan, and in Karachi in particular, provide support and/or protection to women who are victims of domestic violence and/or women who are separated from their husbands? If not, is there evidence of why this support and/or protection is not provided? 3. Is there evidence of tertiary educated women who have separated from their husbands living and working independently in Pakistan, and in Karachi in particular?

Pakistan: 1. Please provide information on PML(Q): its constitution, structure and Presidents since 2003. 2. Please provide information on harassment of PML(Q) members in Lahore at the hands of the PPP since 2005, including the election in 2005, the intervening period when Musharraf and PML(Q) were in power and recent elections to date. 3. If harassment is reported, please advise if there is a profile of those harassed, such as leaders etc. 4. Please advise whether any PML(Q) politicians were successful in the recent elections and whether they have faced any difficulties. 5. Please advise if there are links between the police and PPP since 2005 which would affect protection for activists of the PML(Q) or its youth wing now or since 2005.

Pakistan: 1. In recent times have there been any reports that ordinary workers of the PPP have been targeted for harm by state authorities or other groups? 2. Is there any information on dance parties in Lahore and surrounding districts? Are they tolerated by the community? Are there any reports that persons involved in these parties might be subject to attacks by religious conservatives? 3. Would the police provide protection to persons who are involved in organising dance parties with alcohol and mixed socialising? 4. Is Time social magazine widely read and distributed in Pakistan?

Pakistan: 1. What is the current situation with respect to those participating in anti-Musharraf and pro-democracy demonstrations? 2. Is there any information to suggest different treatment of pro-democracy activists by the Pakistani police and the army? 3. Is there retrospective legislation allowing anti-government activities to be dealt with by military tribunals by military personnel and not the civil courts? Is it operating? 4. If there were outstanding charges against someone at the time of their departure from Pakistan, would these have been likely to be detected by the authorities at the airport and would any action be taken against them at that point?

Would Jamiat-e-Islami be in a position to compel local police/authorities to act in accordance with its wishes? 4.
