Malawi
Nearly 60 per cent of the workforce in Malawi is reliant on agriculture with 45 per cent of the rural population food insecure. This situation is exacerbated by the increased food prices which are 126 per cent above the five-year average. 6.5 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The humanitarian appeal is 74 per cent funded.
