THE EXHIBITIONS

1. Permanent exhibition
Want to relive some of the great Olympic moments? Share the champions’ emotions? Learn about the creative genius of the host cities? Then dive into history and discover the magic of the Games! A unique experience thanks to special scenography which uses the latest technological innovations.
From 2 to 11 p.m., every hour: themed mini-visits lasting 15 minutes. Meet on level 0.

2. Temporary exhibition: DESTINATION: RIO
Your last chance to go on a journey of discovery to the heart of Brazilian culture, with the mixed-race body and music as emblems, all illustrated by Carioca photographers, contemporary artists and video makers.
From 2 to 11 p.m., every hour: themed mini-visits lasting 15 minutes. Meet on level +1.

THE EVENTS

So long Rio! Konichiwa Tokyo!
The Games in Rio are over. The Olympic Games are over. The Olympic Museum is saying goodbye to Brazil and already welcoming Japan, where the next Summer Games will be taking place in Tokyo in 2020.

  • The jabuti and unknown fruits, and other Brazilian tales
    A show featuring Brazilian stories set to music, a unique insight into Brazil’s melting pot culture.
    Ages 6 and up. From 4 to 4.30 p.m., 5 to 5.30 p.m. and 6 to 6.30 p.m. - Auditorium (level 0)

  • The gentle way
    After discovering capoeira in 2016, get ready for Tokyo 2020 by trying out judo with the Mikami club! Discover this combat sport, which has become a symbol of Japan, by meeting Eric Hänni, Switzerland’s first judoka to reach the 9th dan and silver medallist at the 1964 Games in Tokyo. Will you dare to get on the tatami?
    Open to all. From 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. - Art Lounge (level -1)

THE FLAVOURS

Japanese tea for a healthy body and mind - Fukamushi Sencha and Kukicha
The Japanese are masters when it comes to tea. Let your senses be delighted by the many varieties of this drink with its numerous health benefits.
Open to all. From 2 to 8 p.m. (30 minutes) - Hall (level 0)

Time to eat!
Let’s tuck into some Brazilian food one last time! The menu includes Xinxim de galinha (chicken with prawns, peanuts, cashew nuts and coriander) (CHF 15) and our range of desserts (CHF 7).
From 6 to 11 p.m. - TOM Café (level +2)

THE MUSIC

Concert by the François Lindemann Trio
An unusual performance the Museum by three musicians, who will be filling the central ramp with keyboards, percussion and Tibetan bells. As the music progresses, the players move around, slaloming between the visitors, to reach their instruments and envelope the audience with music.
With: Francois Lindemann, concept, Fender piano, electronics, gongs; Philippe Ehinger, bass clarinet; and Raphaël Pitteloud, tablas and other percussion.
Open to all. 9 p.m. (50 minutes) - Hall (level 0)
