About The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organziation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world. The Danish Refugee Council has been operating in Lebanon since September 2004.
The focus of the organization has shifted over time as the country’s needs changed. DRC’s main focus in Lebanon is on providing emergency assistance to refugees from Syria, and on developing the capacities of hosting communities across Lebanon. The emergency response program focuses on four sectors of intervention: Protection, Direct Assistance, Shelter/Collective Site Management and Coordination, and Community Empowerment and Livelihoods.
In parallel, the organization’s Development Programme works with Migrant Domestic Workers and Women at Risk.

About The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world. DRC fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world; and by advocating on behalf of conflict-affected populations internationally, and in Denmark, on the basis of humanitarian principles and the Human Rights Declaration. We understand "durable solutions" as any means by which the situation of refugees can be permanently and satisfactorily resolved, enabling them to live normal lives.
