Objectif(s) | Ensuring the presence in a single location of the various institutions responsible for caring for the displaced population, in conditions of dignity, and equipped with the tools necessary to provide adequate care. |
Results/Impact | 8,867 displaced and vulnerable persons benefited from the services of the House of Rights between 2009 and 2010. The project managed to establish a continuous presence of the Municipality of Soacha through the Guidance and Assistance Units for Displaced Population (UAO); the ministries of Social Development, Health and Government, among other offices; the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare, Family Commission, Academy, and national and international NGOs. |
Why is this considered a Good practice? | The presence of the aforementioned institutions has served as a protection mechanism and allowed the recognition and articulation of actions to address the problem of forced displacement in the area. Moreover, the House of Rights also provides its services to residents of the neighborhoods in general and thus allows promoting local integration strategies between IDPs and the host population. |
