A person recognized in Brazil as a refugee has a right to family reunification. This means that members of his family may also be granted refugee status in Brazil if they are present in the country. If the family members are not in Brazil, it is possible to ask CONARE to inform the Brazilian Consulate in the country in which they are located that you are a refugee recognized as such by the Brazilian Government. This will make it easier to issue the appropriate travel visa for your family. However, the Government of Brazil does not have a program to finance the removal of family members of refugees to Brazil. For more information on how to bring your family members to Brazil, check with ACNUR or one of the partner organizations.
