Objectif(s) | Improving the quality of life of vulnerable families through the promotion of a local production system focused on both direct consumption and income generation. |
Results/Impact | This initiative arises from UNHCR’s commitment to support these communities through activities that may not only improve the agricultural production capacity for self-consumption but also generate medium-term revenue gains from the sale of agricultural products. It has improved self-reliance and livelihoods through training, monitoring and support provided to local production. The promotion and support to the cooperative is expected to continue. |
Why is this considered a Good practice? | The project has enabled the process of local integration of refugees in their host communities to be accompanied by a strategy of sustainable livelihoods for the community as a whole. This reduces the dependency on assistance of rural communities. In turn, this has improved the protection space by having a presence in remote areas vulnerable to the impact of the conflict in neighboring Colombia. |
