Objectif(s) | Training for job seeking in the local labor market. Access to job openings and listings |
Results/Impact | Manpower conducts periodic workshops in Uruguay for refugees and asylum-seekers on the premises of the implementing partners. The project began in 2010, and two out of 14 trainees have achieved formal employment. |
Why is this considered a Good practice? | Refugees and asylum-seekers acquire knowledge of the labour market in the host country in a dynamic and clear manner, and without direct costs for UNHCR. The refugees’ data is entered into the consultant’s database once the workshops are completed and a percentage of them access formal jobs through this mechanism. |
