Taban’s Story, Kenya
This is Taban*, a young maths teacher in the Kakuma refugee camp. Taban arrived from South Sudan when he was eight years old. He has since been awarded the title ‘Best Maths Teacher in Turkana County’ , the region in which Kakuma is based.
“I want to push the learners” says Taban. “I know the challenges and I know that we can do better if we have better and more school material. I want to get a scholarship and continue being a good teacher”.
