On Sunday, 6 September 2015 thousands of refugees who crossed from Hungary into Austria arrived at Munich Central Station. After an initial medical check, the authorities and volunteers escorted them to regional trains heading north. Others boarded buses to spend their first nights in Germany in a reception facility in Bavaria.
