Khaled Hosseini meets inspiring young Syrian refugees
Khaled Hosseini, a former refugee from Afghanistan, and one of our Goodwill Ambassador’s visited Syrian refugees in northern Iraq.
Khaled met many refugees, including two inspiring young women – Payman an aspiring writer, and Nayleen, who runs a professional beauty salon in the camp. He was impressed at how the women’s activities helped them to find purpose in a camp where many are “living a suspended existence…waiting for the day to end”.
