International Organization for Migration- Egypt (IOM)
A propos Under the Community Health Volunteer (CHV)
outreach strategy established under previous
projects, IOM Egypt has continued to strengthen
the capacity of health service providers to deliver
high quality, migrant-friendly health care services
and has expanded it to other nationalities.

Since the large influx of Syrians coming to Egypt,
IOM has now established and trained a CHV
network within the Syrian community in Egypt.

Currently, IOM supports five CHV networks within
the Sudanese, Somali, Eritrean, Ethiopian, and
Syrian community. Several trainings have been
conducted focusing on community mobilization,
delivering health awareness messages, conducting
basic counseling, and identifying particularly
vulnerable migrants in need of further assistance,
including potential victims of trafficking.
