A representative of the Permanent Assembly for the Human Rights (APDH) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, states that to her knowledge, no important political party is known to have armed groups aside from the possible bodyguards assigned to protect the main figures (6 Feb. 1992). The Montoneros group (see previous responses to Information Requests on Argentina), which is a splinter group of the Peronist Party, is no longer armed (Ibid.) A neo-Nazi party, which some think possibly includes an armed wing, is the only group which advocates violence (Ibid.) Additional and/or corroborating information on the requested subject could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC in Ottawa.
